SunnyRoo Inverters

SunnyRoo inverters are accessed using a Serial Port connection (e.g. COM3). SunnyRoo inverters can be accessed using either SunnyRoo derivative of the Phoenixtec protocol or the standard Modbus protocol.

PVBC can access multiple SunnyRoo inverters simultaneously. When the inverters are connected in an RS485 daisy chain, these inverters can be accessed via a single serial port, otherwise you require a separate serial port for each SunnyRoo inverter.

SunnyRoo inverters can use the ModBus protocol. Devices of different types and manufacture that use the ModBus protocol can be accessed via a single serial port when connected in an RS485 daisy chain.

SunnyRoo Inverters (Dynamic, Non-Modbus)

Also used as:

  • Powercom Inverters (Dynamic, Non-Modbus)

This device definition uses the full Phoenixtec protocol. This includes dynamic (inverter specified) message content and format. This protocol allows the manufacturer to specify the data provided and the positions of the data elements in the body of the reading messages.

This is the preferred device definition. Try this first unless you need a Modbus implementation.

SunnyRoo Inverters (Non-Modbus)

Also used as:

  • Powercom Inverters (Non-Modbus)

This device definition uses a limited version of the Phoenixtec protocol. This device definition ignores inverter specified message content and format. It extracts reading data from fixed positions known to be used in many SunnyRoo inverters.

Try this device definition if the others do not work for you.
